Prof. Tony King

Professor Tony King is a lecturer in archaeology at the University of Winchester and a specialist in Roman archaeology. He has excavated widely in Britain and abroad, at sites that include Hayling Island, Meonstoke Roman Villa, Pompeii, Leptis Magna, and at Volubilis. His interests spread across Roman Britain, Gaul and Italy. Tony is also an expert in the analysis of animal bones and, in this capacity, he has analysed remains from a wide variety of sites across the Roman Empire, including assemblages from the iconic site of Pompeii.
