Cinque Terre & the islands of Sicily & Malta
Summary
Cruising the length of the Italian coast
This new cruise provides an opportunity to visit some of the less accessible or lesser-visited sites in the French and Italian Riviera. We discover sites at the very heart of the Mediterranean and enjoy beautiful sea, volcano, and mountain scenery as we travel from the elegant city of Nice and sail the length of Italy, all the way to Malta. We will encounter Greek colonies and Roman settlements, Norman invaders, crusading Knights, and the famous Republican turned Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte.
What to Expect
- Enjoy the glorious scenery of not one but two Mediterranean Rivieras as we cruise along the length of Italy
- Soak up the vista of the picturesque harbours, pastel-coloured houses and terraced vineyards of the Cinque Terre
- Visit the wonderful Co-Cathedral of St. John in Valletta with its staggering Caravaggio masterpieces, The Beheading of St. John the Baptist and St. Jerome, painted while the tortured artist was in exile in Malta
