Morocco: Tangier to Marrakesh6th Dec 2024
From:£3,160
Summary
Imperial cities and Lords of the Atlas
Morocco is known as the ‘Maghreb el-Aqsa’ the land of the further west, encircled by three great seas and tucked in at the corner of Africa. Despite the attentions of Phoenician traders, Roman colonists, Arab settlers and incomers from southern Spain, it has retained its identity over the centuries and in places there is an almost eerie sense of time travelling, so little seems to have changed over the years. This is a country full of colour – pink hued palaces in Marrakesh, cool blues in Chefchaouen, the white peaks of the Atlas, silvery olive groves and honey coloured dunes. And whilst the main focus of our tour is the Islamic heritage of Morocco, it may be the exotic nature of this country which competes for your attention and memories.
