Frequently seen as the heir of Verdi and one of the greatest Italian operatic composers, Puccini’s operas have delighted audiences since their debuts. Guests on this tour will watch 2 of Puccini’s most famous operas, Tosca and Madame Butterfly, while being immersed in the world which created him. We have guided tours of the wonderful city of Lucca, his birthplace, and walk in Puccini’s footsteps, including visiting the famous Cathedral of Saint Martin where a number of his ancestors were maestri di cappella. In order to get better acquainted with the composer, guests will view Puccini’s home museum in Lucca and his summer villa in Torre del Lago, as well as listening to experts who will discuss his realistic verismo style and introduce the wonderful operas which are being offered.
